Low-Carbon Emission meals have simply identified & removed or reduced any High Carbon emission content. How?
•Review this simple graph to see Red Meat ruminant animals globally have by far the biggest CO2-e footprint, so reducing content (no need to eliminate) will help.
Divide the list into Thirds vertically. Eating Less of the top third section and replacing with content from the Lower Two Thirds will significantly reduce the Carbon Equivalent emissions. If everyone did this with 3 main meals a week, research suggests this is all we need to do. Read our references [/public-updates/] to learn more. The full detail graph is here: https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/food-emissions-supply-chain Australia does have best practice in some agricultural areas while others still have room to improve. We encourage developing to lower carbon-e emissions as the priority..

7 enjoyed the first 'Feel Good Foodies' lunch
at Gay's place with a lovely Spinach quiche, a Chilean Bean Stew, a super salad & Kumera Dahl. Wine and water were the lower-carbon-emission drinks of the day. A short time was spent covering the Lower Carbon emission aspects including a graph of CO2-e per kilo of food which clearly shows the major contributors. Lower Carbon Emissions Food can be scaled up. From this simple idea, significant carbon savings can be achieved.
We are planning a free 20-minute presentation and Q&A session about our work with the School of Climate Action Design at 11am in Mona Vale on Tuesday, 16th September. Details to be confirmed & available on request.
Soon we'll organise another 'FGF lunch or dinner event' to help complete our course and confirm the ideas are valid and worth replicating. We appreciate everyone's interest so far srd.org.au/public-updates for more data.
